Why Join?
Established in 1981, our aim is to preserve, restore and compete in the cars we grew up with or admired from afar. What were once regarded as old, obsolete, un-competitive and thus of little value, survive to relive the scenes of their youth, competing at circuits around Australia. Through Historic motor sport you can enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that modern motor racing has lost, you can experience the thrill of driving cars that made heroes of their pilots, and you can sense what it might have been like during the 'golden years' of Australian motor racing.
The HSRCA organises and runs four major historic race meetings each year at circuits such as Eastern Creek, Oran Park and Wakefield Park. In addition we hold regular club meetings, various social events, club plate runs and we will be running driver training events in the near future.
Our club magazine, 'The Oily Rag', is regarded as one of the finest club publications in Australia, and is published quarterly; it is available only through membership in one of the participating clubs - the HSRCA, the Victorian Historic Racing Register (VHRR) or the Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland (HRCC).
We cater for cars from the early 1920s through to the racing and sports cars of the 1980s, and would welcome anyone interested in Historic motor sport to come along and join us. Our race meetings regularly attract over 300 competitors and are widely praised by both spectators and drivers.
